1) How often should we come to see you?
You should wait and decide for yourself after your first lesson. Normally people come about once a week. If you plan on only doing a few lessons then I would suggest bunching them up in a short amount of time. Remember it doesn’t matter how often you come, but how much work the individual puts in on their own time between lessons.

2) What ages do you teach?
Ages 8 to adults are welcome. Some kids are ready as early as age 6. They just need to be able to hold their attention for a half an hour. I’m willing to work with the younger kids but if feel it would be better to wait awhile until they are older I will let you know.

3) Do you work with girls too?

Absolutely! There are lots of softball players in the area who have improved tremendously on their hitting, fielding, and over hand throwing at Mac’s. I find it funny when I hear people say that girls shouldn’t be taught a “baseball swing”. After all, it’s those same “baseball swings” I fix in here with the boys everyday. I don’t currently teach underhanded pitching but would be interested in finding someone who does to join the Mac’s team.

4) Should I do hour or half hour lessons?
Generally speaking most people do the half hour lesson. If you are driving a good distance or working on more than one thing, then you might be better suited for an hour lesson. The first few lessons are a good time to do an hour because there may be more explaining going on than usual. As long as the student can handle a full hour they are more than welcome to do hour lessons.

5) What subjects do you teach?
We teach hitting, pitching, catching, fielding, throwing, and base running.

6) Can I work on more than one thing during a lesson?
Not unless you are doing an hour lesson or we have worked together for quite some time and we are able to transition quickly. When doing a half hour its best to concentrate on one thing for that day.

7) What kind of shoes should I wear?

Cross training or tennis shoes work best. There is no need to wear spikes.

8) Do you do camps as well as private lessons?
Yes, although most of what we do are private individual lessons. We do offer small group and team lessons as well. Camps might be scheduled in the winter or spring. Keep your eye out on the website or sign up to be on the e-mail alias.

9) What are your hours of business?
Our fall hours of operation are:
Monday - Friday: 1pm - 8pm
Saturday: 10am - 6pm
Sunday: 11am - 5pm
Note: Lessons and Hourly Cage Rentals have to be booked in advance

10) Are you open to the general public?
Yes, however private lessons and hourly cage rentals must be made by appointment for individuals and small groups.

11) How far in advance do I need to make an appointment?
You should book appointments at least a week in advance to assure a good time. Sometimes you can get in on short notice but its best if you plan ahead. January through July is the busiest time of year.

12) What if I need to reschedule an appointment?
Please call as soon as you need to reschedule. Doing so opens up time for other members and allows the staff to get home to their families.

13) Do I need to be on time for my lesson?
Absolutely! Please be on time to get the most out of your lesson.

14) What can happen if I don’t show for a lesson?

We understand that things may come up at the last minute but if you continually “no show”, you will be charged according to our reservation policy posted at Mac’s. Please review this policy when you visit.

15) Do you offer package plans?
Yes. These plans are posted on the website and have certain restrictions.

16) How many lessons do I have to buy?
You are only obligated to pay for one lesson at a time.

17) Can I purchase a gift certificate?
Yes, lessons make a great gift idea!
