Mav's Off-Season Training Program

The NorCal Mavericks Baseball Club

The idea behind Mavericks Baseball is to give young athletes an additional choice in participating in elite level baseball in the Northstate. We teach our athletes four main concepts of the game of baseball: Respect, Work Ethic, Sound Fundamentals and Team Concepts.

All Mavericks players will learn to respect players, coaches, parents, umpires and fans. We will play the game correctly keeping in mind that baseball has been around long before us and will remain in place long after us.

All Mavericks players will learn good work ethic that will translate to good on field habits and off field habits. We will strive for our athletes to do their best in order to achieve their individual goals and potential.

All Mavericks players will learn sound fundamentals of the game of baseball. It is a focus of our coaching staff to provide instruction that will build a foundation that will stay with our athletes with each level of play.

All Mavericks players will learn team dynamics and play. Our play will be developed around players' strengths, which will give all players on the team a feeling of accountability in our team’s success. Each player will understand that we play as a team and that their team counts on them for practices, games and team events. They will understand that failure takes place on and off the field and that we need to learn to accept good or bad outcomes. We will emphasize good sportsmanship and teach our players to win humbly and lose graciously.

Choosing to be a part of the Mavericks Baseball Club is very rewarding, and is also a serious commitment. The season begins with tryouts in early December and will conclude in August. We plan to hold 3 practices a week plus a minimum of 6 tournament dates.

We look forward to the 2012 season and appreciate your interest in being involved with the NorCal Mavericks Baseball Club. Thanks for the support!!
